Hi tigerslave.  good to see the hippo.  I am not sure where the nearest river might be.  I didn't think one was close but just different ponds/pans around the area for them to soak in.

This hippo is a real panic, isn't it? I'm glad it is staying a while, because I have one eye on the Nascar races in Nashville. I don't know where is the nearest river to Nkorrho.

Hi Seabrooks.  Its always exciting to see the spring arrivals.  It will be awhile before the little hummers make it this far north.

Hello everyone !

VERY BIG ANNOUNCEMENT !!

The first Ruby-throated Hummingbird of the Spring has arrived at our house and our feeders in west central Alabama, USA. That's 33° 11' 14" N, 87° 29' 45" W, for all you data collecators out there Laughing  It is a female, usually the males come first.

I'm also watching and listening for Chimney Swifts !
