It was a   surprising cam-day  yesterday with lions!!!!

Hope we see them back today.

It also was a busy day for me  so I wish you all happy camming and chatting

I am also moving  slowly towards my bed. I had a good aim to be awake late but my French teacher Bruno bombed me last evening with super difficult tasks and all the energy is gone.

 ok  - here is what the lions are  doing

Why lions sleep so long.
Lions like sleeping. They sleep most of the time. In fact they sleep 20 hours a day. Do you know why? It is because they swallow big pieces of meat. But they do not chew the meat. So they need a long time to digest it.
When we eat we chew our food. So we do not need a long time to digest it. This is why we are awake most of the time. And lions are asleep most of the time.

A lioness sleeps twenty hours a day
A lioness sleeps twenty hours a day. She is awake only four hours. When she is awake she walks in the jungle. She looks for food.

A little information on the Windmill pride. This pride use to frequent the Mala Mala area but then moved into Kruger with only an occasional visit back into Mala Mala for the past year or more.

Good evening cammers! What an exciting day we had. The Windmills are on a buffalo kill just west of the lodge and in day time we were so lucky to have one drinking at the wh. It is quite a big buff. I think they will be around for another day or two. It was nice to have them drinking here as there is another water hole closer to them as this one....it must be something about the taste of NKORHO MATI( mati - Shangaan for water). As the herd of Buffalo and the 2 Lionesses came to the water hole earlier this evening the guys on drive also found Mvula coming this way. Unfortunatly he went up north but he just might come and have a sip of our magic water too. I think tomorrow there will be lots of birds and scavengers around this area with the Buff kill. Well, I wish you a happy time at Nkorho and really hope that Mvula come this way. Happy camming. Bush greetings, Karin

Well I guess we know why that buffalo was lowing yesterday.  Poor old thing. 

Barry, Stompin' Tom used to live quite near us just north of Guelph.  When his wife had a baby, it was in the Erin Gazette.   My sister's friend lived across the road from him and would see him out on his front step, singing and stomping.  True story.  Happy Birthday Tom!   A Canadian treasure.

hi Janice.  E&T just showed up at NK otherwise been quiet there.  EP has had duiker (I think it was), nyala and impala but singles or very few anyway and some baboons were playing off in the distance earlier too.
