found this: The southern impala has a 3-week rut, brought on by the full moon, at the end of the rainy season. The East African impala, however, has a more extended breeding period with most females conceiving late in the rainy season.

I don't know if our impalas are southern or east african, I thought NK was sort of south east part of Africa Smiling

Hi T'man...I wonder if the impala know rutting is supposed to occur between the full moons...I seem to remember last year, my first year here, it went on for a lot longer than that...in fact, I think some thought rutting went on for almost the full year....lol

Hi Howwa and Janice.  It has been fairly quiet the times I have been watching.  Rutting season seems to be in full  swing still.  I read somewhere on the internet that it basically happens between the full moons so if that is true we have till May 8 to put up with the noises lol.
