THANKS FOR NEW DAY

i saw a number of  birds lest night

fall migration  time

one large flock of  50 pluss small birds

landed at nk pan for 3 seconds

saw go-away birds

one new bird for data base

  1. Blacksmith lapwing (vanellus armatus )
  2. Egyptian goose ( alopochen aegytiaca )
  3. Greater blue-eared glossy starling ( lamprotornis  chalybaeus )
  4. Natal spurfowl ( pternistis natalensis )
  5. Red-billed ( tockus erythrorhynchus )
  6. Southern black flycatcher  ( melaenomis  pammelaina ) new bird  for data base
  7. Southern yellow-billed hornbill ( tockus leucomelas )
  8. Three-banded plover ( charadrius tricollaris )
  9. Verreaux's ( giant ) eagle owl ( bubo lacteus )

Hi Sue. I don't know, but I think the small ones were jackals and the bigger one a hyena that was either wounded or dragging something. Just guessing!! lol

I saw some discussion about this before the new day started.  I seem to remember maybe a month or two ago when there was a wounded hyena and a pair of jackals harrassing it.  That video reminded me of that time.  Maybe it's the same situation.
