Hi again!

...and Cowboy, if you are still here.  This is about all I found on the Tembe Lions.  I'm sure there is more info out there but with just a quick search.... it seems back in 2002 four lions were introduced to the park (2 adult males unrelated and 2 half sister lionesses).  The males remained together and the pride swelled to appx. 20.   Seems the numbers went down after the deaths of 6 that were some how escaping into human populated areas.    The latest information below is contained within a Tembe newsletter for Spring 2008.

"Since the demise of the 2 dominant males, the prides have split into 3 distinct groups. Tembe heads up the North group, Langa the South and the 4 most recent youngsters (2 males, Amandla and Umlilo, and 2 females, Thandwa and Nkululeko) were ousted and banished to the Eastern area across the swamps."

Something just walked by left to right behind EP..not sure if it's a bokkie, then I thought hyena, then it almost looked like a cat.

Hello everyone. Janice, I did hear the hyena but didn't see the walkby.

Baby elephants often insert their trunks into their mouths and suck on them - much like a human child sucks on its thumbs.
