This is about the bears I told on waterhole chat last saturday. The mother bear was defending her cubs attacting on a jogger who is ok, but the bears were shot still they were escaping to the woods. Later policemen told that they didn´t have  any general anesthetic and the shooting was the only alternative. This has caused a lot of discussion, not for the first time, I suppose that there will not happen any changes in the attitudes for a long.

The only news in english I found is here http://www.sikunews.com/art.html?artid=6641&catid=11

Notice how many officers and hunters were chasing poor bears. This is not unusual in Finland. I have not found any comments given by the influential conservationists but we have summer vacations and the whole country is "closed".
