When we milked our cows we also had to pour that milk into a separator and separate the cream from the milk....
i miked 14 cows along with my gradnparents - i would sit on a 3 leg stool and balance on 2 legs put my head against the cow and milk the jersey cow by hand her name was dainty
we finnaly got milk machines when i was 11
ya cream separator was cool to watch the cream separate from the milk
and did ya churn your own butter, and did ya learn to drive on a tractor, and did ya learn how to jump off a barn roof into a mess of hay just for fun...
Well did ya did ya. Orrr go to the local pond for a swim then spend the rest of the day picking leaches off yourself....LOL. Yup that was fun..
I did do my own butter into the late 80's, drove a tractor and hated to jump out of the hayloft....scared of heights...., and we went to the "crick" for our swim, no leeches but lots of mud between the toes!
