hi littlewid.  Read in this thread my replies in March I think that might explain a lot of your questions.  If not let me know here or via pm and I will be glad to help you on it.  For downloads it is just the application to receive the "tweets" or alerts and there are several to choose from and depends on what features you want, browser or pc set up etc.  Where you read about twitterfox (for firefox browser) that has been replaced by echofon now.

Hi littlewid. I'm not sure how to instruct you, but did find a Help page for Twitter Here. I believe once you "search" on Africam.com, it should walk you through how to follow. You can set your Account Settings to decide who you want to follow and who is allowed to follow you. Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone

I'm probably repeating alot of stuff but I have just signed up to twitter and I would like to know how I get tweets from the site re the cams.

Do I have to download anything? and to follow Africam tweets do I have to use a web address. Is there anything on my twitter account to set it all up with? As much help as possible would be lovely and gratefully received, i'm not very technical but love getting involved.

Hi Sue, It has been reported of some intermittent problems and different behaviors with the twitter features.  Which cam button did you use, with or without chat window and what browser are you using?

I entered a tweep around 2:15 a.m. and, 20 minutes later, it hasn't shown up yet.

Yap.  This mornings news said that someone dissabled twitter.  They are working on it, but it is not fully up yet...still problems.

Hi Sue, I also sent out tweets about some sightings today and they didn't show up.  Upon further investigation I found out that twitter as well as some other sites were hit by a denial of service (DOS) attack.

per http://status.twitter.com there is still some problems with some to post or follow.  So there is nothing we can do about it unfortunately.  Facebook was also hit today per the news.

I entered two tweeps between 2:00 and 4:00 a.m. today, Friday, and neither of them were posted. They didn't show up on either Twitterlicious or Twitterfox.

They were only a Scops Owl calling at EP, and E&T at NK, so no one missed a cat sighting or anything!
