gday guys and gals,

look i think it might be time to redifine what each forum room is for.. i was in streaming pics b4 and clicked a link that took me to some rubbish in canada.. how is this relevant  to africams..

and the waterhole isnt for mindless chat its for discussing whats going on at the ,are you ready for this "waterholes" ... this aint a free ad for anyone elses site also and if you note in pics from yesterday people are using players and not visiting the sight. maybe i should do that tooo NOT use the webpages people its how they EARN......AND HOW ITS STILL FREE!!!!! sorry that needs to be said loudly..

look the reality it isnt the good folk at africam its the users who think they own the place .. its impossible to go through the waterhole for any information nowdays and 'd like it to go back to be a good quick source for whats up at the pans.. not what someone is doing in there own home.. and to be honest if you want all that stuff you have campfire chat so try using it....

this may just sound like whinging to some but at least i can read what a room is for..

have a good day all LostInOz (paul )

I don't like to compare things but  we must think the experience of other forums too, like NG's forum ..It is really easier to find posts and IDs there from the zoomer and volunteers as they use only one thread always ...Not easy to avoid at all the chat ..but it looks the posts are fewer and you can find what you search easier ...

Edited : I think the only way to succeed a new thread is exactly that ...a special thread where rangers, maybe some specialists and all we to discuss about sightings ...

That's why I tell it Gerda ...You can't be all day scrolling and saving every post ...you can do it with updates but not when rangers answer at a question or so ...I still believe that it is easier for you and for them if they use the new thread ...

Hi Fani,

As you know we copy/paste all posts of the Rangers in a topic.

and yes, sorry that post was forgotten to be copied and pasted in the topic that we use to keep all the posts of the rangers together.

I will go and copy it later (don't have the time now) and past it in there too.

Now ...dear moderators if you decided to revive the sightings thread ..then I think it is time to tell our zoomie friends and rangers of Nkorho ...that it is better to use this thread to post their updates ...as I think the most of us search for those posts and it is difficult to find them after a while ...scrolling at the chat thread ...It was almost imposible after a while to find  the post of Jacques yesterday that the rhino we saw was the flop and drop Wink

Hello Africam Gang Smiling

I so love the cams I have to start by saying that Smiling and thank you.

This site is truly unique and what a wonderful experience, always the first thing started on my computer and the last thing closed ....... and I am addicted enough to watch both cams at the same time.

I wondered if it might be possible to have a live chat going around the campfire or the waterholes ............ in place of posted messages, we could chat live about what we are seeing, have seen and hope to see Smiling

The chat greeting could have some daily comments about what is happening on the cams .......... and then those on line that enjoy sharing all of this wonderment with others can chat.

I often watch Africams with on line friends and it is really fun to be able to message instantly .......... it helps me believe I really did see it and didn't just dream up all those wonderful moments.

Just an idea ........ enjoy your day and happy camming.

smiles Tara:)

I hesitate to weigh in here as I am a fairly new member.  I have watched for over two years and only recently began to post occasionally. I have never posted any pictures.  Last night when I clicked on the thread posted by LostinOz, I was really upset by it and was very curious to see what other's reaction would be.

I had wondered what the difference was between the Campfire chat site and the Wateringhole site, noticing that the majority of users were on the Wateringhole.  I really don't understand the frustration of LostinOz but am certainly not discounting his personal opinion.  We are all entitled to that!  I just want to say that I have been amazed at the wealth of friendship and community spirit that is evident among the wonderful people that use this site!  It is an experience that is so unique and wonderful!  People all over the world are brought together in friendship because of their love of these African animals that most of them will never see outside of a zoo!

I guess, if it is only information that is wanted, that can be found on the internet or in libraries and reference books.  This site goes so far beyond that!  I know of nowhere else on earth that the cammers and zoomies and rangers and moderators and the lodge owner have this kind of wonderful interaction!

I think we need to be so grateful for what is being offered to us!  And, yes, appreciate deeply the fact that it is "free"!

Having said that, I will be happy to abide by whatever "rules" are put in place.  But, I truly pray that those rules will not change the opportunity for the friendships to remain intact!  Friendship is priceless, especially if you are a shut-in and do not have easy access to the outside world.  And, yes, I understand that the sentimental attachment has no monetary or commercial value but perhaps this site and the friends on it may be the main reason some of us even want to get out of bed in the mornings!

I say THANK YOU to Africam and all who work so hard to allow us this privilege!

I suggest that everyone who can realize '' how important is such a thread for several people that can't come for long here..to try and add a summary of the sightings just before leave or when there are dead intervalls..I will try to do it ...even with my bad english ...LOL You all proved yourselves very capable to understand me all those years LOL

Also lets ask Jono how we can do the pics thread easier for people with not fast internet connections ...Maybe if we post smaller pics (fewer kbs) or less than four at every post ?? ...Also some advises to the new and old users would be very helpfull ..????.
