beautiful nightjar calling at EP, and while I'm typing the toad started calling

something is at NK, is it a bokkie ?

I still don't understand that ellie pic, did the ellie fall over?

Don't type anything about Jackson  ;-)  Was a bokkie and a hyaena?

it's like he as standing on quicksand (is that the correct word ?) and fell with his head on the bank of the waterhole

You can see how steep the edge of the waterhole is from the ellie pic.  It must be hard for the little bokkies to get a drink.  Today I read that  an impala fell and broke his leg while getting a drink.

Gerda, yes.  They saw the impala was stuck in the waterhole, and eventually he got out but his leg was broken.  The level of the water was reduced a lot because a large herd of buffs had been there, so it was very steep.  The ranger euthanized the impala so he didn't suffer too long I hope.
