Waterbuck ~ Kobus ellipsiprymnus ~

                 A F R I C A M           T R I V I A  

The Defassa Waterbuck  on the left  is a subspecies (Kobus ellipsiprymnus defassa) 

The common waterbuck on the right  has a conspicuous white ring encircling a dark rump, while the defassa on the left has wide white patches on either side of the rump.

Hi Pam...couldn't I make it on the Weather Channel for having the warmest winter?  How long did it take to freeze?

It was all but instant.  He threw the water into the air....it crystalized immediately.  Yeah....I'd settle for warmest, too!  LOL  We're going to try to go out of town to a basketball game tonight.....leaving in about an hour.  Hope the next round holds off til we get home.

I don't know if they know why the catfish died but they were concerned a while back about algae in the water.  It seems that a lot of the critters don't act very thirsty once they get to the waterhole.. could just be they have lots of fresh water due to all the rain out there in the bush.  I don't know that it was the last of the catfish that we saw apparently dead, but I haven't noticed any splashes or ripples from fish since Sad
