Hi everyone and welcome, pure class!

Thanks for the new day, Kara. Thanks for the link to the EP newsletter, Penzi. Wow some great sightings in the newsletter. However, I wish the Ranger had written about what happened between that very dead hyena hanging out of the Mapogo mouth.

Shocked

Not much going on tonight. As you can hear the crickets and I think those are frogs are out in full force. I think they ran off all the other critters.

Hey Leopard Lady!
You get any of that nasty weather last night and today? I saw on News where some where on OKLA had 2 tornados and snow all in the same day and out west got socked in quite a few areas.

I'm sure that hyena didn't know better and crossed paths with that Mapogo male. I am sure the Mapogo male got annoyed with it and killed it.

I really wonder if lions hunt hyena's. I know they say hyena's are lions enemy. But do they actually hunt them?

Ooops, sorry.  Thanks SueW for starting the new day.  Is this your first?  Nice job, lady.

Wow did you read in that newsletter that the Styx females have 6 males in the pride with them??? That answers one of my questions from yesterday. Wonder where all these guys came from.

From what I understand, they kill them because they view them as food competition.  I don't think they actually hunt them as a food source.  But, I'd not be surprised if other hyena's would indulge themselves in cannibalism over a dead corpse that a lion left behind.

Been riding in some big ^#@ jeep thing alot.... I keep NK up as well but hard to chat and watch everywhere. Like what theyve done with EP and it seems to have worked with all the recent sightings.

Kara, they were referring to the Styx Girls being around the 6 Mapogos in Newsletter.

Hey Karen, we had a pretty amazing trip to Baltimore, Saturday.  Left here at 7:00AM in blinding snowstorm - 8" when we left.  Of course, being Sat. morning, not work or school day, no one was in any hurry go get out and plow or sand, so we had tough going for the first 3 hours/100 miles.  Then, 4-5 hours later we were in balmy Maryland, seeing green grass, buds on the trees and groundhogs running around in the median strip of 95!!  Very wierd day!!
