Sad, but not surprising.  Just consider the source!

Now I know nothing about the Mapogos is normal but I was wondering.....What are the normal pride dynamics? I thought usually 1-2 males stay on the outskirts of their female pride.

In the battle to reproduce it's hard for a single lion to hold onto a territory, so they often form coalitions of 2 - 3 members.  Usually brothers, but,  it's not abnormal to have an unrelated lion join a coalition.

Coalitions of more than four are rare I think, so it's been fascinating watching the story unfold with the Mapogo boys.

Ohh dear thats awful ! Sad they ate the cubs they killed in djuma!

It was only stated from what I heard, that "1" cub was witnessed as being eaten by the Djuma Rangers. Altho that is unusual for lions to cannibalize another lion after killing it, it is not completely rare. Mapogos killed The Kruger Male a while back and sadly all that was left of him was his tail and head. Sad I have read where Leopards have also eaten cubs.

Kool yes one was eaten but Lion lover some of you may remember her has witnissed a female being killed and eaten horrible!
