Thanks Karen      hmmm...so I guess we can quit looking for them if they moved off.  Maybe they will circle back around...hopefully.

Thanks for the new day, Karen.

I am forwarding the message from Ernst a few moments ago from yesterday's thread:

Hi good evening all

There were 5 Lionesses in total and they were trying to hunt. Unfortunately the wind wasn't in their favour and the Impala's and Wildies got away.

I left them and they were heading in a north westerly direction away from the camp. I will be trying to find them in the morning if they are still in our area.

It looked like the Styx females and they are very hungry.

Hope everyone enjoyed them.

Good night

Ernst

cool bananas then, I had just asked about the status of them during wee hours of the morning in Q & A thread.

HOPEFULLY they will come back around after eating.

You're welcome, Theva.

And, dang, Ernst wasn't kidding when he said the Styxx girls were "very hungry".  Look how thin she looks Frown:

Thank you so much again, Ernst.  We are grateful that you took the time to update us.

I think they are white tail mongoose.  There were 2 and they were right in front of us and they went to the finger.

I say white tail mongoose because they have white on their tails!!

I just read that some of the Styx gals have new babies, I really hope they eat so they can feed their babies.

It's still rainy season.   Shouldn't there be a lot to eat around right now?   Why are the lionesses so thin I wonder?

One would think.

Maybe they aren't from a big pride and so catching the food would be a little more difficult with only two.  "Garbo," one of the lone lioness' we've seen around the watering hole in the past was kind of thin too.

impalas and others just alarming at EP!

Bob - yup, hopefully we'll be surprised with anothe leopard at ep, BIG OLE Lions will be good too. Laughing out loud

Zasu - that one lioness we saw might not have been on their recent buff kill or possibly didn't get a good eating. Also other possibilities with 2 of the Styx Girls have been seen with cubs and a 3rd one thought to have but no visual confirmation on them yet from what MalaMala is reporting. Cubs can take a lot of nourishment from moms, so they need for to keep themselves up too.

WAHOOOOOOOO SAYS BABS!!!

OK, I now know why I haven't heard babs.  The sound at EP is going in and out on me (more out than in).  Thanks for posting the babs alarms!  I wouldn't have known otherwise.

it's right tricky trying to monitor it Bob. Watch for moving pixels.. is what I have been doing to make sure it won't froze up.
