Bob Scholes, lead author of elephant management regulation: Culling- "IT CHANGES THE WAY THEY BEHAVE, THERE IS A LOT OF EVIDENCE FOR SOCIAL CONSEQUENCES AS A RESULT OF CULLING", he said. I am not going to turn this into a political session but how can 20,000 elephants in SA be over population. Zimbabwe has 80-100 thousand easy.. How can man determine what is overpopulation??? Part of the quote from Mathinus Van Schalkwyk also said, " LIVELIHOODS AND SAFETY OF PEOPLE LIVING WITHIN ELEPHANT RANGES.", for reasons for culling.. Everyone must read for themselves but who speaks for the ellies.. We must. I have been there. I have seen them and I am in awe of what God has put us in charge of. Peace out.

Hi again, Mini Monkey. I take back what I said. Just went to the streaming pic section and most people here do post with jpg. Must be photobucket. I am pretty sure I have a photobucket album. Perhaps I'll try doing a test posting for you later from both photobucket and imageshack. That way you can see if that's the source of the problem. __________________

MiniMonkey, not a computer whiz here ..but that happened to me one day also ...it worked itself out so I don't know what the reason was. Can you get a pic if you right click on the red x and choose show pic ? If your computer shows it is still loading 170 items or whatever, try clicking stop, and then right click a red x and try that. Another thing might be ..not sure how this works now ..but it could be how much of your memory is designated for different things ?

cherlyn thanks for posting that Elephant cam link. I love elephants. I am always on the look out for great animal cams. I especially love the Monterey Bay Aqurium cams and the National Zoo FONZ website cams. If you have not seen them I really think you will like them.

Hi Mini Monkey. I am not certain, but remember something that Fani told me a few months back. That being, if photos are not posted in j-peg (jpg) format, they will not appear on certain computers using particular hosts or servers, or something like that. Since then, I make a point of always posting jpg pics. Perhaps the other photos you are not seeing are not jpg format.

Afternoon all... Ok I have question..anyone out there a computer whiz???? I have been having some kinda of problem with my computer or ISP or when I defrag the other night something weird happend. I can see the Friday pictures, but on Sat -only pictures posted by "GiGismom" Sunday I can not see any pictures and today I can only see pictures posted by "Swift " and "Marblehead" . At the bottom of the streaming cam picture window it shows" that it is trying to download 107 items from photobuckt...so my guess is the problem has something to do with photobucket...I'm on a Dell and this PC I use to design machine embroidery designs and while I work I watch Africam..out of the corner of my eye which was made much easier since I got a 22' monitor for Christmas. But I have know idea what the _ _ _ _ is going on. So Thanks GiGismom, Swift and Marblehead for your pictures!

THE ONLY OTHER COURSE OF ACTION TO DO WOULD BE TO LET THE ELEPHANTS GO UN CHECKED - THEN THEY WOULD OVER POPULATE - STARVATION AND DISEASE WOULD THEN KILL THEM OFF SO CULLING IS THE ONLY OTHER CHOICE ITS SAD BUT TRUE
