I was using the mammels sightings log thread for prior years and looking at the cam pics that were taken and I find that to me steenbok and the duiker look so very much alike that I really can't tell the difference by just looking at the different pictures.  And if those were correct ID's they have been seen later in the year July-Nov in the prior years.

In the chat room we were trying to decide initially whether the first one was a duiker or a steenbok.  In the infrared lighting it's hard to pick up the finer details.  We were uncertain.  Thanks for the extre research.

I am thinking it is more then likely that they are the common duiker but from what I can tell could also be male steenbok.  Both are not very common sightings at the waterhole and hard to see coloring with the night cam.

There are two more of the little male bokkies.  probably male duikers.

Hi Rattiecat.  I was doing google searches and from the pictures and descriptions it seems that the male steenbok and the male common duiker are very similar looking.  Anyone know what would be an easy way to tell them apart?  I seem to be looking but not seeing lol.
