Not happy with this comment because it is those stupid bozoz in the jeeps that makes this all possible!

As someone who has visited NK and other lodges many times in the past, the vehicles don't chase the animals away.  This lion drank very comfortably for a long time and didn't look at all stressed.  He moved away, looked around and then came back - again, not a stressed animal.  I don't think our sighting would have been any longer if the vehicle had not been there.

Peter, they come out in the jeeps so the guests at the lodge can see the animals.  This guy didn't seem to be afraid of much, although I don't think he liked the jeep and lights much.  He calmed down when the humans and machines quieted down.  Most of the animals around there are accustomed to the landies and humans, I think.  I thought the helicopters were going to scare them away but they didn't.

Yipeeeee, doing the happy dance!  I just said yesterday that I had not yet seen a male lion or a smurf at the pans.  I will forever think of this big boy when I hear U2's With or Without You, on the radio at the time.  My first male lion.  09-14-08

Congratulations!!  Isn't it soooo exciting.  Now you can't wait for the next one to show up.

Are you still dry?  Its almost over, finally.  lol
