Time at the waterhole is now 12:07 am while here in Vancouver - Western Canada it is 3:07 pm. At this stage there is a 9 hour difference between West Coast time and South African time. Drives me nuts - as Helen is still in the Sabie Sands and I always have to think what time of day it is to call her.

Well, that is what I had done and the wavelit.com site indicates that the time is 7 hours ahead of DST in Michigan.

A puzzlement!

Snow is accumulating on grassy surfaces here. I could do without it.

I suspect that the answer lies in any one area's difference from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). When we, in Michigan, are on Eastern Standard Time (EST), we are -5 hours. When we go to Daylight Savings Time (DST), we are -4 hours. The number that one must change, in one's profile, is the number of hours that one deviates from GMT.

Thats right Kay.

. I guess that the answer must be that South Africa (ZA) does not observe Daylight Savings Time-DST.K
