What Animals Am I Watching?

Hello everyone.
Although I have been a member for a good few weeks now, I have had no internet access so am still learning my way around this site which so far is brilliant!
Anyhow enough of my ramblings, I was just wondering if anyone knows of a way in which I can tell one animal from another (I dont mean like an Elephant from a Giraffe...lol) I mean mainly the antelopes & dog like animals that I see at the watering hole, I have no idea what most animals are called? But they are a joy to watch, & I think to be able to name them would give me even greater pleasure when I am watching.Smile

Thank you

Hello wild Jilly,

We have a mammals- and bird database on the forum, where you can have a look at the different critters that have been seen and identified on the cams.

Mammals database

Birds database

In Africam's "Bush School" you can find lots of information about the animals too

Welcome to Africam Smiling

Hi and welcome.  What I also found helpful to learn was following the sightings discussion thread where people talk about about they see ,the sightings and time thread which is like a log of what animal , what time and location it was seen,  and the  chat  threads which  many use to  talk and alert others about animals at the waterholes.  Easiest way I find is to use the active discussions link at the top area of the main forums page.  This will give you a list of the threads with the most recently added posts.  Hope this helps.
