Yes, thank God for the Cancer Society's and others. There's lots of help out there ...its just knowing or finding out about them.Tell Sonny to keep his spirits up....I truely believe that makes a difference. I often think about the people we "chat" with...one never really knows whats going on in their lives, etc. It is nice to have a deversion & cyber friends Smiling

Glad you have the rides sorted out. I hear ya about vehicles and repairs. I'm lucky that my son and son in law work on vehicles as a pass time. Usually they can fix the little stuff. Have a friend that can do most of the big stuff at a reduced rate but still gets expensive.

With my arthritis, I find I can get in and out of the Jeep Cherokee way better than K.C.'s Mustang. Had to sell my Jeep Cherokee after knee surgery cuz it was a stick shift but then Dad gave me his Automatic Cherokee since he no longer could see to drive. I lucked out!!! Smiling His Jeep is 16 yrs old but only has 70,000 miles on it. heehee

Karen, tell Sonny I said Hi and am still thinking good thoughts for him. Can he utilize Handi Ride?
will do, as he kind of knows who you are... lol should be able to use handi-ride but there is usually a 21 day waiting process. ACS has a "volunteer" network for some one to come take him/us to the daily radiation treatments, and there is couple other resources they told me about including Lee's Friends that could hopefully help with getting to other doc visits.

Hopefully I won't need the help for a real long time. We need to get his truck traded in for something automatic and easier for him to get in and out of. I'd love to get one of my vehicles back on the road as I hate being dependent on others, but afraid would take more money then I have to spare for either one.

Yep Karen, my daughter just called and her hubby checked in on him and he is doing fine. I feel better. Was feeling pretty guilty about him falling while trying to answer the phone and it was me calling him. Sad

Smiling @ Karen. Been thinking of you and Penny's angel too. It sure is windy....wonder if its raining too.
don't think it's raining there yet, we usually here it clanginging and pounding on the metal boxes sounding like hail for most part.

thanks on thinking of us Smiling hugs....
just taking one day at a time pretty much. Sonny is getting physical therapy and occupational therapist starts on friday. O/T was a tough one to get him to agree on, but he says he'll try it. As she and I both explained to him that we are trying to get him stronger "before" all this radiation starts up. plus, to help him learn how to "work smarter and not harder" with his limitations from the rheumatoid arthritis he has had for years.

THANKFULLY, I am finally getting the transportation end of it sorted out so I can get all of these appointments and radiation scheduled. Thank God for the American Cancer Society. I would normally have searched all the resources out myself with my usual searches from being the co-leader of our local fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue syndromes support group and research/webmistress person for the group and website, but sometimes you just get overwhelmed with things and need the extra help from those more closely involved in what you need help in, right. Smiling

and bless his heart, Sonny is keeping a good attitude about all of this so far. He's iffy on this new O/T as she is kinda on the pushy side. Hopefully I stressed/explained a few things with her yesterday and it won't be as bad when she comes tomorrow... holding thumbs.... lol
