Karen, the ranger's diary said the june sighting was of one adult male and three adult females.
cool.... might be some where Jan mentioned of the lions killing a good part of the pack.
I'm wondering now on reports I saw only mentioning adult male with the pups, if the mom was at den nursing wounds or something...hmmmm__________________

Karen, I was just reviewing the video of the sighting of the Wild Dogs in June with Pieter and Helen. There were 4 adults in that sighting. Two were believed to be the alpha male and female. Not sure how they might fit in with the single adult and pups we are seeing now though. __________________

Was reading the WE blog about the Wild Dogs. Seems there was a male with this group of Mom and pups at one time. On the 19th of Oct when the Mom and 3 pups went thru at Nkorho, there was a lone wild dog that also went thru about 20 minutes later. Of course it is possible it could have been either the Mom or one of the pups that had circled around or... maybe it was the male trailing behind. __________________

As Nkorho Cam is down as well as WE, I hope it is permissible to post this link to photos submitted by the staff at Djuma.......both Helen and Pieter have some pics there, and there are wonderful wonderful things to look at...... http://www.djuma.com/gallery_staff.php and some pics of our Styx cubs.....altho it is not dated and a pic of elephants swimming in the present mudhole that our cam usually covers..... and I do wish the pics were labelled.....but they are all spectacular. |
have some good sightings listed on updated report too huh. shame no names for leopards are added any more.
