Wow. Who will be first to launch streaming video from the Sudan? And, will there be enough slots for everyone to get on the airplanes for those daily fly-overs? __________________

Glad you decided to stay an Africam groupie...

Seeing as how this is "Get it off your chest day"....... I'm a little tired of hearing about how WE isn't being given enough credit, support, understanding, and lord knows what else. Boo-Hoo....cry me a river....they have had plenty since the beginning and they blew it. Right now they couldn't find their collective a$$ with both hands and a hunting dog from what I am reading here. When am I going to see WE and WE supporters giving Africam some credit and gratitude for allowing discussions of their cams to overshadow all other threads here. I haven't been posting much in the Nkorho chat thread simply because there is hardly ever anyone to talk to. Everyone has Djuma on the brain and only talks about Nkorho when there is no drive going. If they have anything to say about Nkorho...they say it in the djuma thread. There are even times when Djuma is the main topic of conversation in the Nkorho chat thread. Have you seen the page counts on the threads? The Djuma thread consistently is twice the length of both Nkorho threads combined. So if WE people want accolades.....how about a little gratitude to the Africam folks who not only provide the threads, but are way too polite to say anything about it when it gets abused. I posted a phrase in the chat thread a couple days ago, "You dance with the one that brought you". Apparently nobody understood what I meant or nobody bothers to even read the thread anymore. Maybe now it is clearer..... Now.....if WE should happen to slip a thank-you to Africam in their next blog entry, I just might consider ceasing my hostile heckling. It's the least they could do for approving the anonymous accusatory remarks made about individual Africam members.

OH dear. I just read the Blog (I think it is the WildEarth blog) and Elaine's post on page 20. Wow. And I see someone cut a comment from Comaca and pasted it there as a post? Wow. If I had the time to registger for a Google blog account, and make a post there, I can assure you it wouldn't be "annonymous." I don't do "annonymous." I registered on the WildEarth forum under the same user name I use here--smalldog. I think, but I won't test it, one doesn't have an option to give their name unless they sign their post. They're all "annonymous." Anyway, I think this has gotten way out of hand and I"m sorry to see that Elaine may have taken it personally. It was just good natured heckling! The sort of thing folks do around the water cooler the day after a bad night of TV, or, at the local club while watching the last episode of Soprano's. Moan, groan, complain, kvetch. It's all just talk. I think there have been equal numbers of posts saying thumbs up to Nick and Pieter and Helen and everyone out there who launched these drives and is hosting them for us. I think, I believe, our disappointment shouldn't be mistaken for any lack of gratitude. We're not lower than Elephant dung. (my words, not putting words in anyone's mouth). We're just kvetching! But we love our Djuma Game Drives provided by WildEarth, even if we are woefully misinformed about the names of the different locations and cams. I'm old, I get confused. PS: I hope I misread something, but, there appeared to be an implied threat in Elaine's post to the annonymous Africam Bomites (as if the posts just had to be from us--maybe their from people who aren't Bomites?) that those who have bragged about getting back on after being bumped might never get a connection again? Did I read that right? Gosh I hope not. __________________

BTW, to the lurker who is clipping our posts and pasting them on the Blog, please, feel free to clip my post in its entirety (no fair only posting part of it out of context) and add my name. I just don't have the time or inclination to post to the Blog so you have my permission to do it for me. I haven't said anything here that I wouldn't say directly to the administrators of the WE Blog __________________

I didn't see. Did you get BLOGged? Which page. I need a link. This is all much ado about nothing. I think the post robber gives us too much power. BTW, wasn't it I who suggested TONGUE IN CHEEK that if I ran the controls I would reset the system and boot everyone off prior to a drive to give everyone a fighting chance to get on the landi? I'm sure I did. I remember ducking tomatos tossed my way LOL You all haven't had me drawn and qaurtered for suggesting that, or, for agreeing with efforts to try the bump to see if it gives more people a chance to get on the drives LOL Or have you? I better go check my innards. __________________

Oh I can't, I just can't read or write anymore (now aren't you all happy to hear that) LOL I think we all (a) understand and acknowledge all the planning, financial means and creative efforts that go into running cameras (streaming, refresh, still etc) across the world wide web, and, the forums that may be attached to them; (b) are not the least bit naive about what kind of work and money goes into such endeavors; (c) are always grateful to people around the world who volunteer their time and efforts to moderate message boards (but maybe those people need to receive a stipend also, to prevent burn out and frustrations that may cause them to take things personally) (d) have a perfectly valid right to be frustrated by the limitations of the technology and (z) have a perfectly valid right to be disappointed if we don't get on a drive when we attempt to connect to the stream. And, we have a perfectly valid right to chat about our frustrations and poke fun at the technology. And, we're huge fans of Nick and Pieter and Helen and Haley and Rodney and Jan. I think we make that abundantly clear. __________________

I don't know about you making the suggestion, tongue in cheek or not, but in fact I made the statement on 6/3 and fessed up to making it and standing behind why I made it on 6/11. I don't know how the drives are going, but I am connecting to the cam easier. I watch early am's EST, and in the evenings EST. All this fighting and backstabbing is sad. I will continue to do my thing, enjoying what I can when I can. I was able to get on the cam tonight when I got home at 7:30pm my time, 1:30am SAT. Not seeing much but a peaceful picture, and what I think are our 2 traitorous Egyptian geese just under the tree stump. __________________

Sad AL, yes. I think it's all over and done with though, at least as far as we Bomites are concerned. Folks spoke their minds, voiced their views, and now we move on friends again. Right! Tommy, not that I don't want to see you, but, I hope I'm asleep later. I slept poorly last night and really paid for it today with a lousy day of work. One thing I know: I really need a decent night's sleep or I turn into the Bride of Frankenstein. __________________

Kudos, Smalldog. I only hope this will stop and stop soon. It is getting beyond ridiculous. I defend nothing and reading Maxx's post of how some of us are not "loyal" does nothing for me. Nkorho is my home and, if--I was side-tracked to Djuma....so what?! I tried in the beginning to post on all the WH threads while watching Djuma...but, not being that computer savvy hindered me. Bear in mind....we all come back sooner or later...tail between legs or whatever...we all come back. __________________

Maybe Gerda, Fabby, Katja or Sterre can give a more literal interpretation, Sag. It's all a guess to us who don't speak the language. __________________

Whew. What a busy day I've had. Installed 79 more computers here. Had to get the cable company in to hook up all the ethernet connections--not risking wireless.
And I have installed auto click programs on each computer.
I'm going to be all set for Saturday morning when I am home and able to catch a drive. Don't even think about clicking 'cause I'm hogging all the spots
