WILDEARTH'S DJUMA Cam Discussion - Thursday, May 31st
Earlier this evening landi lights were all over and later after they left I recorded these sounds. Don't have a clue what I am hearing. Snarling or growling? then a dog? or dogs? LOL
I was thinking maybe some kind of owl? I don't recall hearing it before though. Was trying to find it on the sounds of Nkorho page but now it has stopped so I can't compare!
Somehow the eeriness of the nightviewing on the cams makes it so exciting :D
Do you mean that chirping sound? My guess is maybe a type of bird!
Yeah very distant hyena, and some closer by egyptian geese, I believe. Do you have an idea what that repeating high pitched sound is?
I'm hearing strange noises, too. Not unusual for the Djuma cam. There always seems to be some eerie noise on that cam!
I hear a whoo-hooper waay off in the distance now..
Hearing some strange noises at Djuma... Sounds like a propeller plane or something? :?
Thanks Granny, great recap! :D So sad I missed the family of warties.
When we were in Kenya in a tree lodge, every night the bush babies would come and the bar personnel would put little plates with sliced banana (in peel) out for them. Watching them eat with their little hands was amazing. They wouldn't let you touch them or even come near them, they made the rules! Some of them had obviously been fighting, some with bloody stumps instead of tails. But that's nature!
Thanks Grannycat for the summary of the drive - I am either out or can't get connected.
I'd love to see more of the bush baby. It reminded me of the chinchilla I got to "wrangle" when I went on therapy visits to the hospital with the local Delta society. He was a softie!
