Hi, Sag...yes, they're fine.  On the a.m. drive (I missed this one) the cam switched to Buffleshoek and Hayley commented it was them.  We didn't make the drive there..cam went down, and, honestly don't know if we could have.

Hi, Fabby....good to see you and sorry about your puter problems.  Good luck on the internship...I'm pulling for you and hooking up with Gareth would be a bonus. Wink

Well you know, from the most Southern trainstation to the most Northern trainstation of the Netherlands is only about 4,5 hours, Amsterdam is somewhere in the middle, so depending on where I am at the time, I am sure meeting up with a 50-60 year old hog will be worth the trainride! Lol!

And well who knows, if I'm not in Amsterdam by then anymore, I might be serving you drinks at Penny's, lmao!

From Lea:  Janni, I have talked to Marlon before. He is indeed a great young man and very informative.

Yes Lea - I just met him last night/morning drive for me LOL

told me about his Rock band & going to Florida - so I am going to try to introduce him to my friends son who is doing the same in Florida...Did you see his websire and all the lions/and the tiger he raised?

I can see how Amsterdam can be scary in parts of it, its like most cities.  If I remember the name of his restaurant is called Das Ruif and its right off the main square.  I even went to that beach that no one (but the Dutch) can pronounce. I won't even try to butcher the spelling of it.

Thanks Fabby !! I have a girlfriend in Holland and she just moved for her husbands job - not sure of the name of where she moved to yet..(In the process of house hunting) I am checking all different routes and have decided that if I'm flying across North America, then the Atlantic I may as well do stopovers to see/meet friends and break up the trip a bit. Just goal setting at this point no dates set..trying to see what costs will be & which airlines/routes I'd take etc. (I haven't stopped smoking yet so the long hauls will be excruciating) I didn't smoke on my other long haul travels and forgot about that. I started again when I was ill (bad girl)  I will go for at least a month if not longer..so I want to do lots of research.

You may see me if you haven't married Penny's Gareth by then rofl - I'm sure he is quite the catch!!!

Mike, coming from a smaller town in the Netherlands, Amsterdam spooked me in the beginning. So many people, and most of them tourists! But now that I've been there a couple of times, I'm loving it. It is so much less scary than most people (especially overseas) think.

Edited to add: when I get to Delft, I will make sure to ask you for details about your friends restaurant!

Janni, you are very welcome! Indeed NL-SA is just a small step coming from Vancouver! Also everyone will be very welcome once I'm in Amsterdam, just let me know!

I was in Amsterdam and Delft a few years ago and loved it. I have a friend who owns a small restaurant in Delft and I visited him there.

Mike if you are still here

Sounds like you will need your PARKA!!!Tongue out

I will be taking a wonderful Lion Sands jacket that the rangers there wear. It will keep me nice and warm in the mornings and evenings.
