Elaine....you are our "Djuma connection"  They seem to be doing a great job...I'm really impressed that the "sorry" msg is gone...hoping it's not too expensive to have the ellie pic on there. I remember Penny saying that it's really expensive for internet service in SA.

that is a thought..lol..as long as he is standing still on the WE video cam.. it takes less bandwith than a moving/streaming video.
it appears that the Djuma Vuyatela cam pic is frozen also..even though the timestamp is updating correctly..but you can tell by the amount of light showing for quite some time in the sky on the pic.
no word as yet form WE..
so their job is cut out for them..
get the ellie moving..on the WE Buffelshoek view. I know that they PTZ controls of the cam are not yet working there.
deal with the Djuma Vuyatela cam frozen pic.
get the ifrared lights positioned
and holding thumbs that the power company, Eskom, provides enough electricity for Telkom to transmit the video stream to us all.

I think that they/WildEarth have their weekend of work cut out for them..

see you all later..

I wonder if we're getting a streaming pic of a post card, on which the camera is trained? :)

Just want to thank you Elaine for the updates... :D

my pleasure, ex.
There will be updates there at the intro/first post for each daily pic forum. THAT IS when and IF they are able to get out to communicate thru emails or whatever..so when they have time they also do an update on the blog.
But personally we all by now understand how many things can go wrong..and i would rather seem them spend time working on the problems than writing us out here with detailed info..

Oh dear. Now I lost my connection. I'll try again later. I'm trying very hard not to let myself get obsessive about hitting that ready button LOL :)

Never refresh when connected. Only stop and start

Yes, I just learned that the hard way. However, I'm back on now, for good or ill.

Where do you gather that info from AL? My understanding is that the 30 sec refresh cam Elaine provided a link to is IN ADDITION TO THE VITUYLLA (forgive my spelling) streaming cam and the cam drives.

Yes, it is..an additional window , hopefully to help those who cannot view VIDEOS..maybe because they have a slower PC or a slower connection. or for whatever reason..
or in this case for those who are unable to connect to the video at times.
The plan is..that this Additional window..will eventually capture a STILL pic every 30 seconds from whatever is being seen on the WIldEarth streaming video cam.
No one ever said that it would have sound. This Vuyatela cam whose view is on Gowrie dam..had been online continuously from Djuma on their website for the last almost 9 years!!

The WildEarth streaming video cam will be showing which ever of it's 3 video cams is showing animal sightings, etc.
Just as they do now with The view of Gowrie dam sightings when there are none on the game drive view.
