Save Our Wildlife - Our Conservation Partners

Africam is proud to be a partner of HERD. The orphanage is located on the grounds of Jabulani in Kapama Game Reserve, purposely built near to the close-knit Jabulani herd. This allows HERD to easily assess and integrate each baby elephant according to their individual emotional needs.
The Orphanage consists of three individual nurseries with five communal areas that adjoin them; a kitchenette, a storeroom, a bathroom as well as indoor and outdoor playgrounds for the baby elephants.
With the growing numbers of orphans and displaced elephant calves in recent years, as a result of increasing numbers of poaching of elephant mothers as well as man vs. elephant land conflict, Adine Roode, MD and owner of Jabulani, took the step to build a dedicated elephant orphanage to provide a unique adoptive family structure for baby elephants in need.
Herd’s mission is to care for and rehabilitate these orphaned elephants, to give them a new family, and a second chance of life with another herd. At Africam, we believe not only in HERD’s mission but also their ambition to achieve it and we find their efforts inspiring. We will be installing cameras on location to showcase their story, the rehabilitation of specific Elephants and assist them in raising funds.

Africam is proud to be a partner of The Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre (HESC). Their track record is living proof that people can make a difference to the long-term survival of the planet and its animal inhabitants.
HESC focuses on the conservation of rare, vulnerable and endangered animal species. Cheetah Conservation is one of its core disciplines.
The centre is actively involved in research; breeding of endangered animal species; the education of learners, students and the general public in conservation and conservation-related activities; tourism; the release and establishment of captive-bred cheetahs in the wild; the treatment and rehabilitation of wild animals in need (including poached rhinos); and anti-poaching initiatives on the reserve.
Africam were very proud to be a campaign driver and primary partner in telling the story of Little G – a wonderful little orphaned Rhino where we helped raise funds to support little G’s rehabilitation. We will continue to partner, showcase their conservation causes and assist HESC in rasiing funds. Please enjoy this archived video of Little G at HESC.
